Ok...thing is, last night I showed my dad my blog, and explained to him what I’m doing with the warm fuzzies, which for those of you that don’t know I’m attempting to send 50 in a week. His reaction was nothing like what I thought it would be. He was happy.
He said to “Adam, I’m glad you are doing something constructive, and I’m proud of you...”
Now I know most of you don’t know me very well, and those that do probably still don’t know why, but that meant a lot to me. Hearing this from the man that devotes his life to looking after me, earning money so he can pay for the food and the house I live in, really meant a lot to me.
I am glad I showed him this, because now he sees that I’m not lazy, I’m not doing nothing with my life, and most of all, we had the best conversation we have had in ages.
Our conversation mainly consisted of what a hero really is and how someone is seen as a hero, which led to refugees and things his brother did similar to the warm fuzzies, like his brother, Rob, was studying, and a project he had to do is write a letter to someone. Now this was not going to be, just a normal letter, but a letter that would make them feel good, and live happy knowing that that was there. Rob decided to write to his father.
So Rob wrote his letter and handed it in to the teacher, not knowing that soon after the teacher asked him if he wanted to send it. Now Rob didn't know what to say. A lot went into that letter, so he decided to send it. When his father received the letter he was extremely happy, but things between him and Rob became kind of awkward.
But soon after, Robs father became sick and soon past away. And I was told by my father that Rob said, “I’m so glad I sent that letter, we both lived so much happier”.
“I’m so glad I sent that letter, we both lived so much happier”....this touched me, and it went through my head, if it felt so good for them, then why can’t it feel that good for everyone.
This warm fuzzies project is not something for us to just waste time, it’s to make people feel good, which is exactly what I plan to do, and I’m going to thank ibby for the fuzzies program as it is the best way to do it.
